    The cyclonic storm butterfly has moved towards Bengal after reaching the coastal shores of northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha. A boat of fishermen was submerged in the gusty slopes of Gopalpur in Odisha. There were five fishermen who were rescued. At the same time, 8 people have died in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh.

    The Odisha Meteorological Department has issued a warning of storm winds for the next 12 hours. As a precaution, three lakh people have been evacuated from coastal areas in Odisha to safer places.

    As the 'butterfly' moves towards Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, the administration has got set up. NDRF teams of 18 teams have been deployed in different districts to avoid damage to the storm. Red alert has been issued to butterfly storm in many areas of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Bengal and 3 lakh people have been taken to the safe places.
    School, colleges, many trains canceled

    The Odisha government has decided to close schools and colleges on the 11th and 12th of the day due to the storm. Apart from this, Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik has also convened a high-level meeting to take stock of the preparations for the storm. Given the effect of 'butterfly' on the northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Odisha coast, many trains have been canceled, while some have changed the route.


    The Odisha government has already instructed the administration of Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara districts to vacate all possible areas in the path of cyclonic storm 'Butterfly'. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked the district officials of these five districts to ensure that no accident occurs, after giving the information of the Meteorological Department to reach the critical level of Cyclone Butterfly.

    After reviewing the process of vacanting the district earlier in the Ganjam district, Patnaik said that all schools, colleges and Anganwadi centers would be closed on October 11-12, although teachers would be on duty. There is possibility of torrential rains due to heavy rains in Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Khurda, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kandhamal, Pandh and Dhenkanal.
